This page says what Tucumcari Tourism knows about you. It says why we keep it, who can see it, and how long we keep it. It also says how to get a copy or have it removed.
The short version
- We ask for as little as we can.
- We tell you why when we ask.
- We never sell your details. We never rent them out.
- We do not follow you around the internet.
- Every email we send has a stop link at the bottom. It works even if you are not signed in.
What we know about you
When you just read the site
Our website keeps a short list of visits. That list helps us keep the site working. It also helps us spot someone trying to break in.
Every device that visits has a number. It works a bit like a return address on an envelope. We do not keep that number. We change it into a jumble of letters first. Nobody can change the jumble back into the number. It lets us see when the same device comes back again. It does not tell us your name. It does not tell us where you live.
We also use a few cookies. A cookie is a small file a website saves on your device. Most websites use them. None of ours are for ads:
- One cookie helps the site remember what you are doing while you are here. It goes away when you close your browser.
- Some of our printed flyers have web links on them. If you come in through one, a cookie remembers which flyer for 30 days. That way we learn which flyers people use.
We do not use Google Analytics. We do not use any other counting service like it.
Who can see it
Our own staff and helpers can. They only see what their job needs. It all stays on this site’s own computer.
We never sell anybody’s details. We never rent or trade them. We do not give them to ad companies. We only hand them to someone else if the law makes us.
Where it is kept
This site is just a set of files on one web computer. There is no list of users behind it. We make a copy every night and keep it 14 days. We keep one locked copy somewhere else too. That way a broken computer is not the end of the story.
How long we keep it
Different kinds of records follow different rules. Here are the ones that matter to you.

If this page changes
If we change how any of this works, we change this page too. The date at the top changes with it. If it is a big change and we have your email, we will tell you. We will not leave you to spot it.
